Open Workshop 2024-25

The Open Workshop is an educational proposal aimed at developing skills in communication, techniques, aesthetics, culture, the arts and cultural heritage. It has been adapted to all educational levels such as Primary and Secondary school, or Bachelor’s Degree.

The activity is playful and educational and takes place in the Marionetarium at Tibidabo Amusement Parc in Barcelona. It can be adapted to different disciplines such as Science and Technology, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, etc. It consists in a playful journey through the craft and its tools in order to achieve a better understanding of related areas that can be of technical, experimental and practical interest.

We will see a show and will work with puppets as objects and as active agents that can be used to introduce new concepts in a dynamic and entertaining way. We also offer a portfolio to work in groups on pre-chosen topics.

String puppet techniques

Manipulating puppets requires a long apprenticeship. This workshop aims to give basic knowledge of puppet manipulation. Marionetarium offers the opportunity to practice with puppets that use different techniques and come from different international schools and can be found in the Animated Exhibition.

Rod puppet techniques

The workshop’s goal is to provide a basic understanding of the interpretation and manipulation of rod puppets through practical rehearsals for the staging of a show. Students will finish the workshop offering performances of the show open to the public.
